Marks & Spencer Aberdeen, AHU Replacement Works

The store was undergoing a project for AHU replacement and upgrade works.

Automated Systems were employed to carry out the following:

  • Survey and document the exiting installation and controls.
  • Electrically disconnect the redundant AHU and then reconnect / re-wire to the replacement.
  • Fully integrate the replacement AHU into the existing Siemens PXC controls system.
  • Check & upgrade controls & software to existing retained AHU’s.

This project presented a number of challenges for Automated Systems:

  • This is a fully operating live store in a distant location from our base.
  • The whole works required minimal disruption and should not impact on store operations.
  • Documentation for the existing controls and panels was not available.

Our original detailed survey prior to removal of the existing AHU, fully identified all existing controls, wiring points within the existing control panels and any modifications required.

We were able to ‘reverse engineer’ the existing control panel and provide detailed AutoCAD wiring diagrams for the AHU manufacturer and our electrical installation team to successfully co-ordinate and complete the works in the required manner.

Upon completion of the installation, existing Siemens PX software was upgraded, tested and commissioned to ensure compliance with current M&S specifications.

Full as commissioned documentation was issued upon completion of the works.

Completed March 2020
